Editorial Policy

This page sets out the principles and process the Finlume editorial team follows. Money is a topic that affects people's real lives (YMYL), so we are transparent about what we verify and how.

Who writes Finlume

Every article is edited and fact-checked by Finlume's editor, Mark Lee, who is responsible for its accuracy. Finlume is a multilingual education site teaching universal money principles that work anywhere — not a vendor of any country's products. We don't claim fake credentials: Mark is not a licensed financial advisor, but an education-first editor focused on getting the numbers right.

Research and fact-checking

  • Figures are cross-checked — we verify statistics, rates, and historical data against reliable references before publishing.
  • Primary sources first — when we cite specific figures or data, we link to authoritative primary sources such as governments, central banks, regulators, or academic institutions.
  • Nothing made up — we leave out claims data doesn't support and never promise guaranteed returns. Assumptions are clearly labeled as assumptions.
  • Balanced — we cover costs, risks, and limits, not just the upside.

Updates and corrections

Data and conditions change. We review articles periodically and update them when needed. If you spot an error, tell us at contact@finlume.net and we'll correct it promptly. Accuracy is our most important standard.

Independence

This site is supported by advertising. Ads are kept separate from content, and advertisers do not influence our conclusions or assessments.

Not advice

Finlume's content is for general information and education only. It is not individualized investment, tax, or legal advice. Consult a qualified professional before making important decisions.
